Attracting specialists

Qualified youngsters are one of the key location factors of the future, without whom successful economic development and the competitiveness of an economic centre are compromised.

The number of highly qualified employees subject to social insurance in Chemnitz is equal to 15.7 percent, meaning our city is well positioned. The average for Germany’s 50 largest cities is 12.4 percent.

The aim is to consolidate and further develop this good position. Well trained specialists are the driving force behind innovations, and therefore the source of growth and wealth. They are a pre-requisite for ensuring businesses set up bases here and can develop successfully.

The Chemnitz IT alliance for specialists was named a “Selected Landmark in the Land of Ideas” in 2010.
