IDEA - innovation by kNOWledge
In knowledge-based economies of Central Europe economic growth largely depends upon the pace and the quality of the innovation process. Regional economic development in Europe is increasingly limited by its quantitative and qualitative potential in human resources. The competition between regions in Europe has humane resources. The competition between regions in Europe has become a large extend also a “demographic race” for well trained employees where regions in Central Europe have predominately experienced a brain-drain. Europe´s social and economic cohesion in the future in terms of knowledge development requires new joint transnational approaches.
IDEA focuses on the development ot thes new approaches to foster and strengthen the innovative potential of the participating regions by ensuring a sound competition between the regions of Central Europe in terms of safeguarding high potentials.
This will be done by eleborating a joint transregional strategy on the basis of good practice examples which will be adjusted and tested in pilot actions to be later implemented in the participating regions.
OBJECTIVES
The aim of IDEA is the development of an adequate strategy which enables the small and medium sized enterprises in the regions of Central Europe to face the increasing demand of high potentials with tested methods and instruments.
Traget group of IDEA will be the so called “high potentials” in the engineering and scientific sector where future-oriented technologies are one of the main source of innovation.
KEY FIELDS OF ACTIVITY
- Future-orientated technology development regarding innovation and demand of high potentials
- Synchronizing regional capacities of advanced vocational training facilities and regional demand for high potentials
- Development of (trans)regional cooperation between secondary education/tertiary education/industry
- Regional approach to deal with the brain-drain the “Diaspora-Option” versus “Reverse-Option”
HOW TO BE REALISED
The European added vale of the project will achieved by...
- bringing together different experiences, approaches and competencies of the participating regions of Central Europe
- deriving strategic measures which meet the growing requirements for knowledge development in regional innovation systems in Central Europe of the present and the future
- respecting the aim to maintain the mobility of human resources while ensuring regional stability
- developing a strategy focusing on implementation of the developed approaches
THE PARTNERS
IDEA will be carried out by a consortium which involves a wide range of experienced and qualified partners in the participating regions. Their different experiences represent a substantial enrichment of the project and they have profound experiences in promoting the innovation development and technology transfer in their respective area of responsibility and their regions.
The consortium is going to foster the creation of cooperative structures of local and other regional decision makers form academic, governmental and industrial bodies which should assemble on the basis from structural investments to stable networks by the end of the project.
