After the chairman of the Sparkasse board, Reiner Grimm, had opened the evening, Peter G. Nothnagel, the Deputy Assistant Under-Secretary at the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Labour, talked in his lecture about investment subsidies related to individual companies as the most important subsidy tool for firms in eastern Germany. He also stressed that subsidies for technology in the Free State of Saxony were an important instrument for supporting Saxon companies that introduce innovative ideas. After the meeting, which both participants and the organisers called a success, consideration is now being given to repeating the event.
